Craftsman Pointe

This mid-sized timber frame home plan exhibits key features from the craftsman style of architecture, hence its name. The distinctive timber frame parallel chord trusses, and the stone pillars and timberframe joinery of the entry porch are beautiful nods to the Robert R Blacker and David B Gamble houses in Pasadena, California, designed by the progressive early 20th century architects Green & Green. With its unique timber frame, exposed rafter tails, and superb craftsmanship, the Green & Green philosophy – that each member of a structure should exhibit craftsmanship, integrity, and identity for the beautification of the whole structural composition – is well defined in the Craftsman Pointe.

The first floor design flows from the timbered entry porch, through a large foyer to the open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. This area has walls of view windows and sliding glass doors onto the covered decks, which surround two sides of this home. A large multi-purpose upper loft can be utilized as a play space for children, a guest room, bunk room or quiet sitting area. The master bedroom on the main level has a full ensuite and sliding glass doors that open out onto the rear decks. A second bedroom and bathroom are also located on this floor. An optional timber framed basement adds a bathroom, a wine cellar, bar, large family room, laundry and utility room. There is a garage tucked beneath the side covered deck.
