A fully custom timber frame home is designed from scratch for a specific client and site, which costs more but produces a home tailored to a unique lot, climate, and lifestyle. Design timelines vary based on complexity, but most custom timber frame projects move from initial concept to construction-ready drawings in three to six months. Once the design is finalized, Hamill Creek typically produces the timber frame in four to six weeks at our Meadow Creek facility, with on-site raising taking five to ten days depending on size. The complete build from design through move-in usually runs 6 to 12 months.

Western Red Cedar is favored for exterior applications and wet climates because of its natural rot and insect resistance. Spruce offers a lighter blonde appearance and a more cost-effective option, and Larch provides excellent weather resistance with a distinctive reddish-brown color. All four species are sustainably sourced from British Columbia’s managed forests and processed at our onsite sawmill.
