Hamill Creek Timber Homes crafted the timber frame structures for these 35 rustic style, but elegant cottages using Western Red Cedar. Each residence is made up of a cluster of timber frame buildings, with each building connected by beautifully landscaped walkways. The use of timber frame construction created a rustic architecture, complemented by many of the elegant details introduced by the architect. The timber frame vaulted roof uses large scissor trusses over each pod building, creating an open and airy feeling to the smaller footprint of these homes.
Kukio Cottages was designed by Hart Howerton with leading architect Mark de Reus. The cottages’ feature cedar timber frame trusses perfectly frame the beautiful Hawaiian seaside. The architect’s vision clearly echoes throughout the structure, inducing a soothing, relaxing atmosphere where owners can enjoy dining with views of sand, sea, and coconut palms.
